The phrase “how ironic” is thrown around a lot these days, with most of the people who utter the term using it incorrectly. According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of irony is: “A state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often wryly amusing as a result”.
