5 Star Wars Questions That Remained Unanswered

So we all know the Star Wars world is absolutely enormous and the films have spanned much cannon and many comics and TV Shows and more. However, in the films alone there are questions that are left unanswered that we’d all like to know the answer to, but no one can explain them. Therefore, we went out and found some of the most intriguing questions that make us go “oooh yyeaaahhh!”. And here they are for you now:

1. Why Does Chewie Not Get a Medal?

That’s right, at the end of Episode IV we see both Luke Skywalker and Han Solo recieve medals for their incredible achievements for the Republic throughout the film. However, as they stand there, we realise that Chewie the Chewbacca wasn’t so lucky and hasn’t been given a media. But why? Is there some rule that suggests he couldn’t or did the Republic feel he didn’t do enough to warrant one?

2. How Did They Build That Second Death Star So Quick?

We assume that the Death Star had begun construction somewhere between the end of Episode III and obviously the beginning of Episode IV. Therefore, assuming Luke is in his early 20s when this all happens, it takes them around 20 years to build this Death Star. However, after Luke blows it up, they then seem to have built another one only merely a few years later for Episode V. It’s something we just take for granted considering the Empire’s power, but with the loss of the original Death Star, there are certainly going to be some loss of workers and aid.

3. How Do Jedi’s Actually Die?

One of the weirdest moments of Episode I is almost certainly when Ben Kenobi gets killed by Darth Vader and just appears to vanish into thin air. We see this nowhere else when other Jedis and even Sith die throughout the other five films. It appears to be something that only Ben does. Whether it’s the fact he accepted his defeat and therefore, prepared himself to go like that, who knows?

4. Why Does Luke Keep His Infamous Name?

This is a bit of an inconsistency from the prequel trilogy to the sequel trilogy and was likely a necessity. However, if, according to the prequel, Luke was taken away to Tattooine to be hidden from the Empire then why do his carers Owen and Beru raise Luke with the surname Skywalker? Surely that would make him at a huge risk, especially considering that it’s established early on in Episode IV that there’s an Imperial presence there.

5. Where Is The Rest of Yoda’s Species?

In the whole of the Star Wars universe, what makes it all feel so believable is that there are always huge colonies or families of the same species represented in the films. However, in the case of Yoda, never do we see any other forms of his species. It’s not a question that necessarily needs answering, but it’s one that would be interesting to know. Is he the last of his kind? Does he not like to talk about his origins? Or is it just a coincidence that his species are never mentioned?
