With freshers week looming and university places being secured, we have made a guide for all those flying the nest and officially embarking into their freshman year. With our 15 tip guide for uni freshers 2015 you’re sure to be prepared and ready for the exciting year ahead.
Try to find your roomies before you move into halls, often there are Facebook pages made to search for them!
Be social with the flats surrounding yours, after all you will be walking past them every day and the more the merrier.
Come prepared – this means bring a pack of cards, shot glasses and straws minimum.
Bring lots of fancy dress options; you’ll be very popular if you’re the one that remembers to pack face paints.
Join in on social activities including society fairs, this is a great way to meet new people and learn a new activity.
This same rule goes for attending the freshers fair – there is guaranteed freebies, discounts, fun activities and this is a great way to break the ice with your new roommates.
‘Go hard or go home’ does NOT apply to Freshers week – treat it like a marathon as you have a whole week to get through.
Be prepared for the age old North vs South rivalry.
Or even just not being able to understand your room mate’s accent all together!
Come with sweets, cake and snacks – no students turn down free food and this is a great way to make friends.
Get a Netflix subscription – this is a must for those days when you’re feeling slightly fragile or home sick and want a distraction.
Don’t sleep in your lectures – there may be a lot of people in that lecture hall but chances are you will be noticed!
Bring lots of jumpers and blankets – you’ll soon learn the price of heating bills!
Remember to have lots of fun but also remember the main reason you are at University – finding the right balance is key!
