As of 6 September 2016, there are some 30 videos which have gained over 1 billion views on YouTube and 28 of them are music videos. But which videos reached the billion views milestone the fastest? Read on to find out.
5. ‘Blank Space’ by Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’ took 240 days to reach a billion views. The song is the second single taken from her hugely successful album 1989; the album’s first single ‘Shake It Off’ also reached 1 billion views and fourth single ‘Bad Blood’ ft. Kendrick Lamar is very close to reaching the milestone.
4. ‘See You Again’ by Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth
‘See You Again’ by Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth managed to reach a billion views in just 184 days. The song was released as the lead single from the soundtrack to Furious 7 as a tribute to the late Paul Walker, who died in a single-vehicle accident while still shooting the film.
3. ‘Gangnam Style’ by Psy
The most viewed video on YouTube with over 2.6 billion views, Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ video was the first to hit the billion mark and did so in 159 days. It was also the first to hit two billion views, which it did after 684 days, and is well on its way to hitting 3 billion views.
2. ‘Sorry’ by Justin Bieber
It took 137 days for Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’ video to reach a billion views. The song is the second single from Bieber’s album Purpose and the video for its first single ‘What Do You Mean?’ has also surpassed a billion views, achieving the feat in 250 days.

‘Hello’ by Adele
Adele’s video for ‘Hello’, the lead single from her third album 25, became the fastest video to reach a billion views in January 2016, only 88 days after its release. The video is currently the sixth-most viewed YouTube video, with just over 1.7 billion views.
