Uğur is a digital artists who lives in Istanbul, Turkey. His popular compare and contrast series of photos between the two world’s went viral on social media after publishing them on popular websites.
Through the series of combining photos he has highlighted the important issues in which one part of the world facing critical issues such as social injustice and countries laden with wars whereas the other part of the world turns blind eye to those problems like nothing is happening around the world.
“I’m trying to show the important issues the world is facing, such as social injustice and war, by putting two pictures side-by-side within a single frame. By doing this, I want to demonstrate the contrasts between the two different worlds we live in.”
An image definitely expresses more what a thousand words cannot. He believes a solution needs a detailed documentation infested with words that could be simply expressed through a few images because “art is the master of all languages.”
He wishes that the whole world should live by the philosophy of renowned Turkish revolutionist Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s phrase “Peace at Home, Peace in the World”, which was implemented as the foreign policy of Turkey back in the 20s and is believed to be effective till today.
