Have you ever wished there was some kind of technology to get you from A to B super fast in a Harry Potter port key style, time machine style vehicle? Well, you don’t have to wish for much longer! You can have a morning meeting in London and get to New York within the time of your coffee break for the next meeting! An average flight to New York from London takes roughly 8 hours, whereas now you could make your way over the Atlantic in under a quarter of an hour!
Introducing the most futuristic looking aircraft that is an estimated 12 times as fast as the leading speedy aircraft, the Concorde. This aircraft is called the Antipode jet and whilst it is a working concept, this has a very promising future of revolutionising travel! This super innovative jet uses rocket engines to enable speeds of up to 20,000 kmh which means getting anywhere insanely quickly. This aircraft was created Charles Bombadier, an engineer from Canada. The craft will allow for a maximum of 10 passengers to travel with style and speed in this crazy jet. “I wanted to create an aircraft concept capable of reaching its antipode, or the diametrical opposite, as fast as possible,” Bombardier stated.
The take off for the Antipode jet will be totally different that of your normal flight, where it will be thrust into a magnetic field and pushed along twp conductive railings to get the jet into the air, where the rocket element will fire and eventually break the sound barrier as the jet is propelled upwards. This effectively makes the jet have the capacity to travel at ten times the speed of sound, which is unheard of within the travel sector. The overall look of the Antipode is very futuristic and sleek, the body is built for speed and takes on a brand new look which represents the modernism of the creation.
Although this is a very new concept, this could be what the future of travel looks like for generations to come, making getting across the globe more efficient, faster and easier.
