Cosplaying is a serious business. It’s not like buying a costume off Amazon every year. No an amazing cosplay outfit can take months of constuction and can cost hundreds of pounds. But there is no denying that the final outcome can be beautiful. They can even put the originals to shame.

2. Hera Syndulla from Star Wars Rebels
Managing to pull off Hera Syndulla without looking silly is no easy task, yet Feyische has totally caught the essence of this rebel.
3. Arkham Knight from Batman: Arkham Knight
This Arkham Knight cosplay by Crimson Coscrafts was achieved by a 3D printer and the effect is amazing. You’d think this cosplayer had walked right out the game.
4. Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon 2
It’s the hair that really makes this cosplay – it actually looks cartoony. Apparently it took 2 months for Leo Light to create this impressive costume.
5. Miranda Lawson from Mass Effect
For anyone who has played Mass Effect you can see just how impressive this Dahlia Thomas take on Miranda Lawson is. The adding of the planets behind is also a rather brilliant touch.
6. Batman as Barkman
This cosplay may not look like the real Batman but it is still very impressive. Christophe Guinet likes to make costumes from nature – this Batman cowl is make from bark and mould.
7. The Joker from The Dark Knight
This take on Heath Ledger’s Joker by Jesse Olivia is disturbingly similar. You’d actually think it was Heath himself.
8. Robin from Disney’s Robin Hood
It’s hard to look like an animated fox, but this costume by Deathorn Cosplay is about as perfect as you can get. Anyone else really want ears now?
9. Batman from Arkham Origins
This costume is so impressive that we’re still not entirely convinced it’s cosplay! It was created by Julian Checkley who was inspired by the batsuits within the video games – in particular Arkham Origins.
10. Belle from Beauty and the Beast
Ryoko Demon looks a real beauty dressed as Belle from Beauty and the Beast. We love the inclusion of Chip too.
11. Harley Quinn from Arkham Knight
This take on Harley Quinn is pretty special. She has the outfit down to a tee and it wouldn’t be Harley without a baseball bat in tow.
12. Furiosa from Mad Max
This cosplay by Jack Gabriel is so detailed that it even has a mecanical-looking arm just like Furiosa. He managed to make it in just 3 days.
13. Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas
We thought the original Jack Skellington was pretty scary but this real-life one is just horrifying. Hopefully you don’t run into him in a dark alley.
14. Arya Stark from Game of Thrones
At first glance, this Arya Stark looks like the real character. That’s just how good Ginny Diguiseppi’s costume is.
15. Maleficent from Maleficent
Looking just as fantastic as Jolie, Kendall Bailey is really rocking the post-battle look. Just look at those wings!
