If you’re a guy who’s ever gone shoe shopping then you’ll definitely know the struggles of picking up a pair of shoes that meet your needs and look good at the same time. We’re not like women where we own 14,000 pairs of shoes of which 1 pair I wear more than once and of which no pairs are comfortable enough to walk in. When we buy shoes they’re gonna last us a year and they’re gonna feel like Nike Air Max’s to walk in. Below is the thought process I believe most lads would go through when buying shoes.
1. I want my shoes to be comfy
This is a given for a lad, the shoes he’s gonna wear for the next year or more need to be comfortable enough to wear to work but also comfortable enough to be dragged around for 3 hours around the shops by his girlfriend.
2. But I also want them to look good
But at the same time, they need to look good enough to be seen in and cannot under any circumstances be a pair of trainers. I’m not 15 anymore!
3. What colour? Black or brown?

So the two colours that now I’m grown up I have the choice between… maybe a cheeky navy if the shoe is acceptable.
4. Okay, found some half decent ones
All right, so I’ve found a good-looking pair that would be acceptable for both work and everyday wear.
5. Should I try them on? Of course not, I’m a lad!
I always see people trying shoes on and I wonder if it would actually be a good idea this time as I’m still suffering from my previous pair I didn’t try on.
6. Wait… but what if they’re not comfy or don’t look great on me?
Wait.. they might not be comfy either. They might be one of those pairs of shoes that look great but hold tiny little people with knives that stab away at your ankles as you walk.
7. Okay, I’ll try them on!
All right, for insurance purposes, I’ll sit down and try these ones on.
8. Oh no, I hope I don’t see the lads whilst trying them on
Oh no, now I’m halfway through the process and i’m sat down on this bench, what if the lads walk in whilst I’m trying shoes on?
9. Oh god, these aren’t very comfy at all!
Oh no, they’re not even that comfy! This whole effort was for no reason whatsoever.
10. Ah well, I’ll get them anyway cos the sole lights up when you walk!
I’m still a kid at heart and I can always come in next week to look for some serious shoes!
