8 Celebrities Who Quit Twitter For One Reason Or Another

One of the reasons why X previously Twitter is so popular is because there are loads of celebrities on it โ€“ in fact, there are some who donโ€™t seem to do anything but tweet all day. For some though, Twitter becomes a bit too much and they decide to quit the social media network once and for all. Check out these 8 celebrities who quit X for one reason or another.

Sam recently quit Twitter because of the publicโ€™s negative reaction to his Oscar speech. He did win the Oscar for his James Bond theme tune โ€˜Writingโ€™s on the Wallโ€™, but during his speech he mistakenly mentioned he was the first openly gay man to have ever won an Oscar, which is far from true as many openly gay men have won Oscars in the past.

Lena eventually quit Twitter because of continuing abuse she would receive for posting photos of herself. She still has a Twitter account, but she has someone write out and send her tweets so she can still keep fans informed about her latest appearances and projects.

Demi has quit Twitter twice, though sheโ€™s still tweeting today. Both times she quit, it was due to her posts receiving lots of negative, somewhat abusive comments from people.

Like many others, Chris ended up quitting because of overwhelmingly negative reactions from people. Heโ€™d been having a somewhat heated exchange with Jenny Johnson, a comedian, and even though he quit due to the negative comments he received, he was back on a week later.

I'm a Classics graduate and have been writing for over three years. Hopefully going to go into novel writing some day. I'm mostly interested in theme parks and roller coasters - I've been on 300 coasters and plan on going on lots more!
