Zombies have become a huge craze lately, with them cropping up in movies, games, books and tv shows as well as the odd claim of a real life one roaming over Facebook! However, this huge craze could have been said to have taken off since the first series of The Walking Dead which got thousands hooked straight away hence why people are still loving the show well into series 6 with IMDB ratings of a huge 8.7; all due to how realistic the shows are and how much they draw you in and could really convince you that the zombies and theatrics are genuine! Along with the actors comes the hours put into make up and wardrobe and vocal practising to make those growls, grumbles and most importantly screams sound super scarily real… which is where the police got involved!
Just last week the police had two 911 phone calls reporting extreme distress and painful screaming being heard from a neighbouring house. Along with the screams of terror the 911 caller stated they had heard someone shouting about having a gun on their person and sounded stressed which might lead to them using this gun, so as any one would do when hearing there is a crazy person with a gun and screams in the next door house they rang the police!
Due to the severity of the 911 call and that there had been a report of an armed man, the police set out a huge amount of armed and protected staff to head to the scene to intercept any dangers and violence that the 911 call had suggested! “We had a whole bunch of guys on that one,” reported Sargent Brian McGraw as told to the Tribune.
When the officers cautiously headed to the home, unsure as to what would greet them they came across something no one had expected… not blood, weapons, distressed people but just a family sat around the television set binging on Netflix watching episodes of The Walking Dead! The family were obviously totally shocked to have tons of police men approaching their house as they had just been watching a show together as a family!
After the incident, there was no official police report filed, so there has been no investigation as to whether the screams were from the show or the family watching it (we’ve all been there!) but there really was a huge amount of drama caused by a family just watching a tv show! Is this impressive due to how realistic Walking Dead sounds or just totally embarrassing for the family?
