Some Great Movies From Previous Years To Still Look Forward in 2020

If you feel like summer ending means that not many more decent films are due out then you couldn’t be more wrong. No doubt, 2020 is going to be an absolute huge year for movies with some massive titles already announced, however, there’s still plenty of content to come this year in 2019 as well. There are quite a few obvious titles that people are excited for that are listed below of course, but there’s also some fun titles that less people may have heard of and can get excited about. So let’s begin our list of some great movies to still look forward to in 2020 from the previous years.

Maze Runner – The Scorch Trials

The original Maze Runner was received to mixed reviews with a lot of people talking about how it felt like it was leading up to something at the end or how it felt like it was purely there to create a sequel. Being based off the books, this couldn’t be helped which is why the studio have quickly released The Scorch Trials, the second in the series and the more interesting look. Fingers crossed it is so.

Star Wars VII – The Force Awakens

I don’t know if you’ve heard about this one? Apparently there’s a new Star Wars film coming out this year and apparently it’s poised to break every financial record when it comes to the box office. The level of hype for this film is on a completely different scale to any we’ve seen before. We have everything crossed that the film is worth the hype.

Spectre

James Bond is a legacy that will just never die, he’s a man who can change faces due to the fact that James Bond and 007 are just titles for his job and he’s a man that always evokes quite a lot of excitement. James Bond has gone down a far more personal route over the past few movies with this one looking to be following suit. James Bond films always offer up great action, great women and great cars… we don’t think Spectre will fail there.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2

The Hunger Games is a franchise that arguably launched Jennifer Lawrence’s career to the A-Lister status she now has. This is due to some incredible effects and some brilliant action scenes. Along with the political aspects and the nice change of having a female lead, Hunger Games is a great series and the finale will surely go out with a brilliant bang.

The Good Dinosaur

This little film from Pixar looks to be taking a fairly similar route as Wall-E. There appears to not really be much dialogue between the characters and it’s more about the journey that they go on and the friendship bond. On top of this, the actual animations look simply stunning which is something we’ve come to expect from Pixar. Let’s hope it makes us feel as good as the Trailer does.

The Martian

A film about a man who gets trapped on mars by himself and has to survive for 4 years with only 31 days worth of survival gear. This is one of those films that may not offer a hell of a lot of action but for those willing to be patient could really reward you with the sense of having suffered and triumphed with Matt Damon and his character.

Kung Fu Panda 3

The original Kung Fu Panda films were a huge hit with some great casting of Jack Black, Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie and more. All of the voice actors are looking to return for the new film and the storyline that Po finds his long lost parents sounds interesting too. As long as the animations, actions and humour are as on point as last time, this will be another success.

Hotel Transylvania 2

With the original receiving fairly positive reviews due to the interesting storyline, the sequel looks to build on that success and idea. The story reads “Dracula and his friends try to bring out the monster in his half human, half vampire grandson in order to keep Mavis from leaving the hotel.” Sounds like a fairly interesting story, whether it will match the original, we are yet to know.
