Do you believe in ghosts or are they just a load of nonsense? Here are 13 photos that people claim show real-life ghosts – are they real or have they been faked in some way?
The cowboy no one saw
This photo was taken in 1996 and shows Ike Clanton posing as a cowboy at Boothill Graveyard in the aptly named Tombstone, Arizona. The cowboy figure in the background wasn’t there at the time the photo was taken. Ike even recreated the photo and had someone stand where the cowboy was – only the cowboy’s upper half can be seen, yet it was proven impossible for someone to stand where the cowboy was and for their bottom half not to appear in the photo.
2. Whose hand is that?
The late Peaches Geldof posted this selfie of herself and her son, with the hand of an unknown person appearing above her shoulder. She believes the hand belongs to a woman who committed suicide over 100 years ago after delivering a stillborn. Make of that what you will…
3. The ghostly girl in the lift
This spooky picture was taken at a hospital in Bolivia.
4. Once you see it, you won’t unsee it
This photo of a couple on their wedding day was supposedly photobombed by a ghost, or was it?
5. You’re not alone, or are you?
This picture of a woman sitting on a church pew was taken by her husband, who swore there was no one sitting behind her at the time.
6. The girl with no face or arms
This creepy photo was taken in 1943 in Hungary. Is it a real girl or something else?
7. Look above the wall left of the child’s head
Is this the face of a ghost or just something that happens to resemble a human face?
8. The figure in the doorway
If the ghost in this photo is real, who is she?
9. The Whaley House
The Whaley House was built on what used to be a cemetery and it’s claimed to be one of the most haunted houses in America thanks to numerous unexplained occurrences that have happened there. People have claimed to have seen the ghosts of husband and wife Thomas and Anna Whaley and this photo apparently shows Thomas Whaley himself.
10. Look closely…
This photo was taken during the investigation of the notorious Amityville case and was apparently taken at a time when there were no children in the house.
11. A new friend?
Is this just a small child who was playing when the photo was taken, or is it something more spiritual?
12. The ghostly WWI soldier
This photo of a WWI air squadron was taken in 1919. The man who the ghost appears by is in the top row, fourth along from the left. The ghost is believed to be airplane mechanic Freddy Jackson, who had been killed two days earlier and whose funeral was held on the same day this photo was taken.
13. A phantom’s grip
This rather blurry image was taken back in 2000 in Manila, the Philippines. The two girls had asked a stranger to take a photo of them, with a ghost appearing to grip the girl on the right.
