Instead of going out and spending a bomb on a piece of designer hand luggage with special compartments to put your passport in (yes, we’ve all been roped in by the compartments before) just use your day to day hand bag or rucksack and grab a plastic folder from the office (free) to put all those important documents in! This means less chance of that panic when you think you’ve lost the passports because you can’t remember which pocket you zipped it in!

Yes Raybans and Chanel’s are nice, but once they get scratched up in the sand or sat on and broken then spending hundreds doesn’t seem all that worth it! Why not, check out what the high street has to offer with some sunnies coming in at around the same price as a cocktail on the beach! Which means a double win, more money saved and less heart break if they get ruined!

Swimwear

We still aren’t sure why a bikini top can cost more than an entire outfit with the amount of material used, but if you want a new piece of swimwear for each day without going into debt, then head down to eBay! It is so underrated yet there are thousands of sellers selling swimwear for around the same price as your Starbucks order and some even do a multiple buy discount!

We always over estimate how much shampoo you really get through in a week, but the fact is the travel size toiletries really are enough… unless you’re Rapunzel! These are really good for cutting back on the luggage weight allowance too as they weigh barely anything compared to the huge bottles, plus you won’t have to take them home with you either.

Be tactful with this, compare what the drugstores deals are and often you will be able to find 2 for 1 or buy a certain amount and get one free!

Beach Towels

No one even notices beach towels so it seems crazy that people fuss about them that much, why not take an old shower towel that you’d been meaning to replace and then you can bin it at the end of the holiday and not need to pack it.

Travel Plugs

Every family has a draw full of travel plugs, so chances are you won’t even have to buy any, just ask around and sure enough you’ll have them coming out your ears!
