While we all know animated movies aren’t meant to be realistic, there are a few things that can be really annoying, such as when makeup still looks perfect even after swimming underwater or sleeping for 100 years. Loryn Brantz has edited some iconic Disney princess scenes to show what they would really be like if the princesses wore realistic makeup, complete with running mascara and smudged lipstick.

Aurora from Sleeping Beauty

In the original fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty slept for 100 years, but even after only a few hours of sleeping in makeup she’s bound to look a little worse for wear. Her lipstick would definitely have faded and she’d have black mascara smudges around her eyes, as well as lashes that have glued themselves together from all the product.

Ariel from The Little Mermaid

While Ariel looks great underwater and would probably have invested in a few waterproof products, being bashed about by the waves is another thing altogether. With her wet hair clinging to her head, she’d also probably be covered in mascara and eyeliner which would run down her face and make her look more like a panda than a mermaid.

Jasmine from Aladdin

Magic carpet rides do look quite exciting, but with all that fun Jasmine is sure to get a little blown around and windswept. This wouldn’t do anything good for her thick dark hair, but watering eyes would probably also leave her with running mascara and some of her great cat eye liner is likely to be wiped away too.

Mulan from Mulan

In the famous scene where Mulan wipes her makeup off with her sleeve, things probably wouldn’t go quite the same way if she were wearing realistic makeup. Apart from ruining her sleeve, she’d also probably be left with makeup smeared across her face and definitely not fully removed. Not even a wet face wipe can remove all makeup from the face, so thinking that she’d be able to wipe her swipe her face and be done was a bit of a mistake from Mulan.

Belle from Beauty and The Beast

It wouldn’t just be Belle that would be having makeup problems at the end of Beauty and the Beast. Have you ever tried to kiss someone with thick glossy lipstick on? It definitely doesn’t stay in place. Not only would the Disney character have pink lipstick smeared around her mouth, but the Prince would also have it on his mouth too.

Tiana from The Princess and The Frog

Tiana doesn’t look so different in the top and bottom pictures, in fact she doesn’t look different at all. Even though the photos show Disney princesses with realistic makeup, on Tiana’s wedding day she would be bound to get a makeup artist to do her face for her, meaning it would look flawless all day!
