John Stamos Charged With A Criminal Offence – Might Face 6 Months Jail But Why

John Stamos, the actor best known for his work on the show Full House over twenty years ago, has been charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence of an unnamed drug after being stopped and arrested for erratic driving in Beverly Hills earlier on this year. If the actor is unlucky, he could be facing a six month period in prison for his immature behaviour that put other people’s lives at risk.

While Stamos’ charging document doesn’t officially state what drug the actor had been taking before getting behind the wheel, TMZ have reported that he had been taking GHB, a drug which is often referred to as a “date rape drug.” The narcotic is often taken by people as a form of fitness supplement, rather than the usual unpleasant reason for its ingestion. When Stamos was originally arrested back in June when the police believed he had been driving under the influence, it is reported that he was hospitalised for a possible medical condition, where he was found to be high. Despite what TMZ report, the Beverly Hills police continue to decline commenting on what drug had been taken during the event.

If the actor did find himself incarcerated, it would be a fairly inopportune time for him as he’s currently got his hand full with a reboot of Full House on the cards and another sitcom which has already premiered on Fox. I think we all know how unlikely it is that Stamos will be sent away for six months though, celebrities often find themselves handed a fine rather than a custodial sentence where the public would expect a more harsher sentencing. We’ll have to wait and see what the courts have in store for John Stamos.

What are your thoughts on this story? Do you think that there’s a too much fuss made over driving under the influence or do you think that celebrities are let off too easily for crimes that we’d be harshly judged for? Sound off in the comments on what you think should happen to Stamos and celebs who decide the law does not apply to them.
