The clocks go back
What’s not to love about an extra hour in bed?
2. Cold nights are coming
There’s always that day when you experience the autumn chill. Though it means cold nights are coming, the good thing about cold nights is that they’re the perfect excuse to chill in front of the telly snuggled up on the settee with the fire going.
3. Wrapping up warm
As the weather gets colder, it’s time for a whole new wardrobe. Time to bring out the gloves, scarves, hats and of course, your favourite woolly jumpers.
4. Duvet days are acceptable
If you want to spend all day lying in bed under your duvet watching films, you can because it’s autumn and it’s getting colder outside.
5. Baking
Baking is a lot more fun when it’s cold outside, so bake yourself some lovely sweet treats you can enjoy by the fire in the evening.
6. Bonfire Night
A threat to blow up Parliament has given us one of the best nights of the year. Wrap up warm, grab some sparklers head to your local fireworks display and watch a dazzling light show in the sky.
7. Hot drinks
Whatever your favourite hot drink is, autumn is the perfect time of year to enjoy it as often as you want.
8. Kicking leaves
You haven’t lived until you’ve seen a huge pile of leaves and kicked it again and again until the pile is no more.
9. Halloween
Halloween is one of the most fun times of year. Dress up as whatever or whoever you want, scare yourself silly watching the most terrifying horror films, let your hair down at parties and eat however many sweets you want to.
10. Misty mornings
Misty mornings are definitely worth getting up for.
11. Conkers!
A staple of primary school playgrounds, the game involves two players taking it in turns to smash each other’s conker to smithereens – find some conkers and challenge your friends to a game. You’re never too old to have a good old game of conkers.
12. Colours
Autumn is the season of gorgeous colours. It’s definitely the prettiest season.
13. The countdown to Christmas
Christmas comes earlier every year. For many of us, autumn marks the start of the countdown to Christmas and the shops are already full of Christmas stuff. Whether you like it or not, during autumn there’s no escaping Christmas, even though it may be a good few months away.
