Every year we get a new Spice Girls reunion claim. However, the latest Spice Girls reunion claim centres around the fact that next year marks the 20th anniversary of the Spice Girls releasing Wannabe. Which seems the perfect time for a Spice Girls reunion and tour, don’t you think?
Emma Bunton has quashed the rumours saying it’s not happening, but we’re pretty sure Baby Spice is capable of fibbing to us now she’s a baby no more!
The rumour of the Spice Girl reunion is on the basis that Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice won’t be joining the rest of the girls. Which makes sense, Victoria is far too rich and famous now to be lip-syncing in leather.
But what have the other girls been doing now their back-flipping days are over? Here’s all the gossip:
1. Victoria Beckham
It’s hard to deny that Victoria Beckham has done the best since the Spice Girls split. A household name in her own right, Posh Spice has a gorgeous family with her husband David Beckham. If ever a bunch of kids have the genetic lottery it’s Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper who are all simply gorgeous.
Although Victoria had a small solo music career in the noughties, which included four top 10 singles, it is in the world of fashion that Posh Spice had made a lasting career. Her designers are highly sought after with her bag range selling at up to a astonishing £18,000. She has even guest edited on the prestigious French Vogue.
With her fashion career going so well, it is little wonder that Victoria Beckham doesn’t want to return to her pop past with a reunion tour.
2. Geri Halliwell
Geri Halliwell, aka Ginger Spice, hit headlines this year when she married Christian Horner but what has she been up to since she left the Spice Girls in 1998?
Well Halliwell has been quite the busy bee. She had a very successful solo career releasing three albums which sold over 12 million copies worldwide. We certainly won’t forget the It’s Raining Men single any time soon. She is reportedly working on a new album at the moment.
In recent years Geri Halliwell has become an author of children’s books as well as her own autobiography. Halliwell gave birth to a daughter, Bluebell Madonna, in 2006 but has never revealed who the father this.
3. Emma Bunton
Everyone’s favourite baby-faced singer has, like Geri Halliwell, released three solo albums since the Spice Girls demise. Although not as successful in her her solo career, Emma Bunton has made a great career out of television and radio presenting.
Baby Spice appeared as a judge on ITV’s Dancing on Ice as well as presenting on GMTV and This Morning Summer. She has a regular radio show on Heart FM.
Bunton has two children with Damage Singer Jade Jones – Tate and Beau.
4. Mel C
Currently a panelist on Asia’s Got Talent, Melanie Chrisholm has made a successful music career for herself in Europe although she hasn’t had as much success in the UK. She has sold over 12 million records since the Spice Girls ended and has even started her own record label called Red Girl Records. She is currently holds the second position for most number of UK number ones by a female artist.
Mel C has suffered from an om/off eating disorder and depression for most of her life.
Sporty Spice has a daughter called Scarlett Star with property developer Thomas Starr.
5. Mel B
Melanie Brown, or Scary Spice in her Spice Girls days, has done very well in the world of television since leaving the Spice Girls. She has been a judge on numerous TV shows including X Factor (both Australia and the UK), Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model and America’s Got Talent.
Mel B has three kids – Phoenix Chi (Jimmy Gulzar), Angel (Eddie Murphy) and Madison (Stephen Belafonte).
Brown revealed in 2014 that she is blind in one eye after laser eye surgery went wrong 15 years ago. The star was to receive more surgery to try and correct the problem.
