Now that the 6th series of the Great British Bake Off has just begun, we have reignited our love for the show and all things baked! With a new bunch of keen bakers at the ready and the ovens preheated, we wanted to pick out just why we love the show so much.
Mary Berry
Mary Berry is the ultimate star baker and makes the show. Her amazing recipes inspire a lot of the bakes that happen on the show and her knowledgeable advice is always positive and lovely to all the contestants.
Paul Hollywood
Paul Hollywood is almost the Simon Cowell of the GBBO, he is sometimes very brutally honest but he knows a good bake when he see’s one and brings a lot of entertainment to the show.
The Funny Hosts
Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc add so much comedy and light heartedness to the show, this pair are always nibbling and egging the contestants on!
The Mishaps
The mishaps on the bake off always add a bit of drama and excitement to the show as it makes you more excited to see what the final result will be.
The Challenge Bake
The challenge bake is always a tense time, where things can go very wrong but also end up pretty amazingly.
The Lovely Tent
The bake off tent is the ultimate country style, shabby chic inspiration. It complements the whole style and tone of the show effortlessly.
Learning About The Contestants
With each new series you learn about the contestants the further along they get and soon choose a favourite to root for!
The Amazing Ideas
It’s always exciting to see what incredible ideas the contestants come up with, from icing swans to a 10 tiered cake!
The Britishness
This show is very classically British! Set on the grounds of a stately home, with country style interior and hosted by British icons (despite Pauls surename), which is a refreshing change from cheesy game shows.
The Happy Feel
The bake off tent always has a happy atmosphere with a friendly sense of competition, where everyone helps each other out – which is very lovely.
Learning
This is a great show to watch others learn, progress and watch them develop their skills as well as learning new things yourself.
The 3 Second Rule
As mean as it sounds, you can’t beat the moments when the contestant’s bakes land on the floor and unfortunately the 3 second rule does not count when you’re being filmed!
Craving Cakes
This show always reminds you of your childhood as it’ll make you crave the cakes you loved or get your tummy rumbling for a pastry treat.
Inspiration
If you love to bake or want to try it out, this is the best show inspiration in flavours, ingredient combinations, different types of things to bake, decoration and so much more.
The Incredible Bakes
Ultimately, it is amazing watching the whole process of the show stopping bakes the contestants create.
