Credit cards are a staple part of most people’s lives these days and are certainly not seen as particularly impressive feats of technology. In his Utopian narrative Looking Forward, Bellamy describes a card with an predetermined amount of credit that may be used by citizens for purchases. Little did he know that this item would later be used by almost everyone one day in the future.
