So Apple seems to have died down a little bit as of late. They haven’t really innovated in any product range since the iPad came out. Yes, they’ve brought out a Watch, but, in all honesty, they were just trying to catch up with Android and yes, they’ve brought out a very thin Macbook, but it’s way too expensive and not powerful enough to ever really trouble anybody selling Ultrabooks.
Therefore, we feel it is time for Apple went ahead and blew the world out of the water by getting into the automobile market. Well, there have been rumours for a few years now that Apple are looking to get into said market.
They have already introduced Apple CarPlay to plenty of cars throughout the US which allows you to use iOS on your touchscreen in your car. You can also connect up your iPhone with it and it’ll be able to do even more. So they’ve already got the software side down, but lately more rumours have emerged.
There has been a lot of competition between Tesla and Apple recently due to Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, coming from Apple and having brought the brilliance that only Apple employees show. Now, Apple have been hiring plenty of people who are well known within the automotive industry. Their latest hiring was that of David Masiukiewicz, Tesla’s former senior CNC programmer R&D hardware prototyping.
Apple has rapidly been making moves over the past few years, hiring plenty of people and opening up plenty of labs to try and speed up the progress of their car manufacturing business.
But what sort of car would Apple make? Are they going to join the game with a high-end car that offers plenty of tech? Will they try and make something futuristic that makes all other cars look ten years old? Or will they play it safe with an affordable car that simply offers an easy route into the iOS ecosystem?
