Your food bills will soar through the roof and there’s a lot of work that goes into looking after an unusually large animal. These owners embraced the unique attributes of their pets, though, and were ecstatic when their dogs, cats and beyond earned themselves some staggering world records. Darius: 52′ and 49 pound rabbit from the United Kingdom
Every year Darius eats a total of 2,000 carrots and 700 apples. Darius’ son jeff is 44′ long and is probably going to overtake his dad.
Giant George: 43′ tall and 245 pound Great Dane from Arizona
Back in 2010, Guinness World Records crowned him as the world’s tallest dog, as well as the tallest dog ever.
Gary: 112 pound capybara from Texas
Gary’s breed is pretty similar to a giant guinea pig or hamster. His owners bought him after finding him in Venezuela.
Zorba: 99′ tall and 343 pound mastiff from the United Kingdom
Standing on his hind legs, Zorba would be taller than the average professional basketball player! Zorba He holds the Guinness World Record for the largest dog ever.
Ralph: 55 pound rabbit from the United Kingdom
Ralph eats about $90 worth of food every single week, which is a lot for a rabbit in case you didn’t know. Ralph snatched the Guinness World Record back for world’s largest rabbit in 2012, after being outweighed by Darius in 2010.
Big Jake: 82.75′ tall and 2,600 pound horse from Wisconsin
Sammy: 115 pound tortoise from California
Owned by the famous Colin Kaepernick – quarterback of the San Francisco football team, the 49ers, Sammy is a pretty impressive pet.
Gibson: 42.2′ tall Great Dane from Grass Valley
Gibson was recognised as the world’s tallest dog by Guinness Book of World Records in 2004, but he passed away in 2009.
Goldie: 15′ long goldfish from the United Kingdom
Goldie was bought for 99 cents in 1993 and was only 1′ at the time He eats the same amount as any goldfish but won’t seem to stop growing.
Bandit: 75 pound raccoon from Pennsylvania
Bandit’s thyroid problem wasn’t ideal, but it least it earned him the accolade of largest raccoon.
Stewie: 48.5′ long cat from Nevada
Stewie was named after the evil little baby in Family Guy. Back in 2010, he was hailed as the world’s longest cat in 2010.
Zeus: 44′ tall great dane from Michigan
Zeus ate a 30 pound bag of food every single day and drank water right from the sink, as you can clearly see… He was recorded as the world’s tallest living dog in 2012 by the Guinness World Records.
