If you follow the stars instagram you’ll of noticed that just a few weeks ago she was in Norway for a photoshoot with friend and photographer, Conor McDonell, which is where the celeb nearly lost her life. On this shoot the pair decided it would b a cool idea to explore their surroundings in order to get the best lighting and scenery for the photos… after all it isn’t often you travel all the way to Norway. However, upon finding what they thought was a good location, it turned out to actually be a frozen lake! At the time they were inside of an ‘all-terrain’ BV206 vehicle that started sinking through the ice, which was later instagrammed by both Ellie Goulding and Conor McDonell!

On Ellie’s instagram she captioned the moment as, ‘Throwback to a few weeks ago when myself and @conormcdphoto nearly ended up in a lake in -30… Note to self don’t drive a BV206 over a frozen lake’. Conor went a step further to actually speak out about the story and what happened, which is where the near death moment sprung from,

‘So me and@elliegoulding weren’t going to post about this but we decided that it’s too mad of a story not to tell. This photo is from when we were in Norway a few weeks ago – That moment when you’re in -25 in the middle of nowhere in Norway in the pitch black and your belt wagon crashes through the ice in the middle of a lake and you have to emergency evacuate through the roof. “Oh s**t we’re in” was my first though. Second was to take photos. We were in the front cabin. That is pretty much under water in this photo. A few minutes later it was all completely gone under the water and ice for good.’

So note to self, try to avoid driving over frozen rivers, lakes or even ponds as chances are, it will not end well!
