Many famous faces are known for growing up and living in certain places, but what about their birthplaces? Lots of celebrities were born in places you’d expect, but there are some whose birthplaces are quite hard to guess.

Kim was actually born in Liverpool, though she and her family moved to Canada when she was just three months old; Kim would then move on to New York City after she graduated from high school.
2. Keanu Reeves
The Canadian actor was actually born in Beirut, Lebanon. His English mother was working there when she met his Hawaiian father, who would later go on to abandon the family when Keanu was just three years old.
3. Bruce Willis
You might be surprised to learn that Bruce was actually born in Idar-Oberstein, in what used to be West Germany. His father was serving in the US army as a solider at the time and Bruce spent the first two years of his life in Idar-Oberstein before the family moved back to America.
4. Russell Crowe
Russell was born in Wellington, New Zealand, and lived there with his parents until the family moved to Sydney, Australia, when he was four years old. The family would then move back to New Zealand when Russell was 14.
5. Nicole Kidman
You’d assume Nicole was born somewhere in Australia, but she was actually born in Honolulu. Her parents were living in Hawaii on temporary work visas when her mother gave birth to her. It wasn’t until she was four that the family moved back to Australia.
6. Lupita Nyong’o
Though she was raised in Kenya, Lupita was born in Mexico City, where her father was working as a visiting lecturer at a college. Before she turned one, she and her family moved back to Kenya, where she would spend the rest of her childhood.
7. Kiefer Sutherland
The Canadian actor, along with his twin sister, was actually born in Paddington, London, as his father, the actor Donald Sutherland, was working in the city at the time.
8. Mila Kunis
Mila was born in the Ukranian city of Chernivtsi and lived there until she was seven. Her parents decided to move to America because of antisemitism and because they thought the move would bring about more opportunities for Mila and her brother.
9. Amy Adams
Amy was born in the city of Vicenza in Italy. At the time of her birth, her father, who was a US serviceman, was stationed at the Caserma Ederle post in the city.
10. Emma Watson
Most people would assume Emma was born somewhere in England, but she was actually born in Paris. She lived there until her parents divorced when she was five years old. After the divorce, she moved to Oxfordshire with her mother and would continue to regularly see her father in London.
11. Charlize Theron
Charlize was born and raised in Benoni, near the city of Johannesburg in South Africa. She lived in the country until she was 16, when she moved to Milan to pursue a modelling career.
