Paediatrician Demonstrates Way To Calm A Crying Baby in Just 5 Seconds

If you are a new mommy or daddy and want to learn how to soothe your baby you will soon be overjoyed. “The Hold” method demonstrated by Robert Hamilton, MD, of Pacific Ocean Pediatrics has uploaded a video on YouTube showing you just the right way to calm down your crying baby. In what seems like a few simple step he tells you just the right technique to soothe that may seem difficult otherwise. So here is the simple four step process where the doctor reveals the secret to the method which is not so secret but has been used for centuries to calm a crying baby. The doctor says this works best on a 2 or 3 month old, further demonstrating tilting the child at a 45 degree angle and folding the infant’s hands against his chest and supporting his back with hands. Further adding, “you can shake their booty, and generally by doing this the child will quiet down,” and, “Everything you do is very gentle. You don’t want to do jerky motions, ever.” So simple! “Sometimes we stir him to the left, sometimes we stir him to the right.”

What makes Dr. Hamilton’s method a success is, “The baby’s arms are secure, reducing their startle reflex. They like it because they’re snug and it’s a comforting reapproximation of the womb. And leaning forward actually helps lower abdominal pressure, which helps if a baby is colicky or has heartburn.”

Thanks doc for sharing this life saving method! All parents are going to be thankful to you all their lives or at least for those so difficult first few months of their little tot’s life.
