So, it appears to be a thing on the internet to wrap very expensive phones in all sorts of different materials to try and see if that material would work well as a case. It’s something we don’t quite understand but is great to watch in video form anyway.
The latest attempt at this was with the new iPhone SE on a channel called GizmoSlip who wanted to see if said phone could withstand a 100foot drop when wrapped in Liquid Glass Putty. It’s a pretty unique idea of which you’ll find out the results below.
First, the guy begins by layering the SE in all of this liquid glass putty, as you obviously would. He’s sure got a lot of that stuff!
The guy then proceeds to drive somewhere nice and high up to throw this covered iPhone SE off of a 100-foot height. He then does the inevitable drop!
This is the drop, in slow motion from the bottom. It’s actually quite interesting to see how the putty reacts when it hits the ground!
Unfortunately, the iPhone SE still broke and the screen was smashed in the process!
So there you have it folks, if you’re looking for a new iPhone case that can withstand a 100-foot drop, we wouldn’t recommend wrapping it in liquid glass putty as apparently this wouldn’t work.
We know, for most of you, you’re more likely to just go out and buy one of the recommended sturdy cases instead of wrapping your new expensive gadget in disgusting putty, but all the same, we just wanted to warn you if you had, for some reason, thought of doing such.
Let us know in the comments below whether you thought this was going to work or not? Were they silly to even try it or did you think they might actually have a chance of stopping their brand new iPhone SE from smashing?
