So how does Kiddle work? It is basically a new search engine just like how we would use Google to search information whilst online. However, Kiddle is for kids and it has tons more measures that the weak parent locks that often let dodgy information and web sites still slip through! Kiddle will only allow ‘safe’ sites that are written in simple and accessible language, suitable for little’ens!

Kiddle is made to make all those innocent searches, stay innocent and only bring up safe information in a clear way to not only protect your kids but help them learn the ropes of going online in a simplified way. Kiddle is super friendly, colorful and all around child-friendly! The interface has a cute outer space theme and a friendly robot to help your child travel their way around the internet! Basically, it is the exact system of Google but is super-filtered so it is always appropriate. It will also have a system where in which when anything is searched, the first few sites will be ‘safe sites’ than the later few will be sites written in simple language. This means you can almost see a list of sites that as they go on, they are more suitable for an older child intellectually.

This search engine will make everything easier for both parents and kids, so it is definitley an all round positive. It means kids can do school projects and build online confidence in a safe way. Kiddle isn’t owned by Google but it is supported by it. What do you think, would you be happy leaving your kids to explore Kiddle or are you worried it would still be inappropriate?
