The Oscar nominations have finally been unveiled, and as usual there are a few upsets that we need to talk about. Great movies have been left in the dust, while talented filmmakers, actors, actresses and beyond have been hung out to dry for lesser cinematic efforts. Let’s take a closer look at the 6 most unacceptable Oscar nomination snubs.
1. Charlize Theron isn’t nominated for best actress or supporting actress
Don’t get us wrong, we’re glad to see that George Miller’s Mad Max is getting the credit it so thoroughly deserves. With 10 nominations (including best picture and best director), a film that could be labeled within the action genre is set to sweep up a lot of awards often reserved for more serious and dramatic affairs. But it can’t be argued that the Charlize Therone’s portrayal of the fascinating Furiosa was the most interesting aspect of a film that was incredible on many different levels. We think it’s criminal that she didn’t get more attention from the Oscar judges. Shame on you all!
