So, yesterday, the new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story came out that fully showed off some really great footage to come in the upcoming prequel to A New Hope. The trailer was dropped after this teaser the day before had been shown:
The preview really showed us absolutely nothing other than that there is going to be a different type of stormtrooper in the film once again. However, don’t worry, the old Stormtroopers that we know and love from A New Hope and later are still in, as you’ll see in the full trailer here:
Our main protagonist is once again a female, which is great to see! She is called Jyn Erso played by Felicity Jones and she looks to really follow in the powerful woman figure that obviously would be a result of having Princess Leia as your supposed leader. Well, we assume in some way she is, which is why she eventually ends up with the plans to the Death Star.
Throughout the trailer, we see some really incredible shots that remind us just what makes a great Star Wars film, such as this scene of the Death Star:
This is by far the coolest scene in the trailer as it shows the sheer vastness of the Death Star in its construction as Star Destroyers fly right in front of it. Another great scene features these AT-ATs that we see:
This is obviously part of some huge war. Whether it’s part of the rebellion war or whether it’s them escaping or maybe even them trying to get into somewhere, we don’t know. Either way, look how amazing this scene looks!
Finally, there has been a lot of speculation as to which character this might be. It appears that that is the Emperor that’s kneeling down in front of it. Plus, the red-caped guys are royal guards which makes us think this could well be Snoke appearing once again?
Whoever it may be and however awesome the scenes may look, we really feel this is going to be another successful film and looks to expand upon the lore of not only little parts from The Force Awakens but much from A New Hope too which is great to see. We may also get some lore that bridges us between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope too.
