Pictures can be a very powerful thing and some of the pictures that have been taken throughout history can really put into perspective some of the horrible or some of the beautiful events that have happened throughout history. Solid photographs have only been around for about 150 years or so now. Therefore, that’s about as far back as these images can take us. However, that doesn’t stop of us younger folk really taking these images and seeing what effect events had on the normal person throughout history. Back in the 80s, to stand up to your parents was often received with very negative responses. However, when this boy rung up the police to report his father abusing his mother, he was seen as a hero and this image was reported as one of the most powerful images in the world at the time.
