See your favourite band or musician live.
There’s nothing more inspiring that standing in a sweaty, crowded arena and rocking out to the best music on the planet! If your favourite artist is on tour, make sure you get tickets as soon as they go on sale to avoid missing out on one of the most exciting experiences you’ll ever have. There is a surge of reunion tours that are rumoured to be happening in 2016 including Guns N’ Roses, Busted, Sum 41, Good Charlotte, The Stone Roses and Oasis. If any of those appeal to you then watch out for dates because they’ll be selling out quick!
Make a big deal out of leap day.
February 29th only happens once every four years, so make it a day to remember. Do something out of the ordinary like bake froggy cupcakes, do some origami or send a friend a Leap Year eCard.
Instead of making it about yourself, make it about someone else.
The more you put pressure on yourself with resolutions, the more stressed out you’ll become. Why not put the focus on someone in need instead? You could save all your extra change a pot of money and donate it to your favourite charity at the end of the year, or give away your old clothes that you no longer wear.
Eat a new food each week.
2016 is all about trying new things, and where better to start than with our favourite thing in the world, food! Let’s all set ourselves a task to try a food that we’ve always been a bit unsure of, because we might just surprise ourselves! Why not start with a char-grilled dish?
Get rid of everything you don’t need.
Minimalism is the way to go, so cut down on all the material possessions you really don’t need in your life anymore. Make a pile of things you’d like to give away to charity whether it’s books you’ve already read or games you no longer play. There are thousands of people out there that would appreciate all those things, just like you once did.
Tone down the social media.
In 2015, we were all big on SnapChat, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, but it’s time for a change in communication. If we can take this challenge where we block ourselves from using one social media app per day, we might find we can get a lot more done with our lives! If you’re really brave you might decide you want to delete your accounts for a while.
Get a haircut.
A haircut can do wonders for your complexion and your hair health, even if it’s just a trim. You don’t have to do anything drastic but make sure at some point you schedule a much needed trip to the salon and you’ll feel a huge weight off your shoulders (literally)!
Re-arrange your furniture.
It’s time to swot up on your feng shui and move around your furniture. Something as simple as changing the position of your bed can make you fall in love with your home again, and could even improve your health by giving you a better night’s sleep!
Cycle.
With the Tour de France, the Isle of Man Cycle Fest and the the Women’s WorldTour in 2016, everyone’s going to be latching on to the bicycle craze! There’s a bike and a budget to suit everyone, and the best part about cycling is you get to keep fit without it being a huge chore!
Give someone a gift for no reason.
It doesn’t have to be anything big or expensive, but treating somebody you love to a heartfelt gift will brighten up their day (and yours in turn)! You could try making something yourself such as a photo frame or a playlist full of songs that remind you of that person.
Pick a side: Batman V Superman!
It’s going to be one of the biggest movies of 2016, so you might as well place your bets! Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released in March and there’s one question you need to answer. Are you Team Dark Knight or Team Man of Steel?
Take yourself on a day trip.
Set a day aside to venture out alone and do something you’d normally do with other people. This could be going to a museum, visiting a new town or simply watching a movie at the cinema. If you learn to love your own company and you’ll gain some confidence in return!
Celebrate your birthday in a big way.
If you’re someone who never makes a big deal out of your birthday, let 2016 be the year you do things differently. Think of an activity you’d really love to do and send out the invites well in advance. You won’t regret it!
Have a night out without alcohol.
It might seem impossible, but going for a night on the town without booze may be one of the best things you do next year! You could meet for an evening coffee, before attending a show at your local theatre. Not only will you remember the events of the day better, but you will wake up fresh and hangover-free!
Get rid of that one negative thing in your life.
Whether it’s a job you hate, a toxic relationship or a voice in your head that tells you you’re not worth it. Whatever that one thing is that gives you a sick feeling in your stomach, get rid of it and don’t look back!
