On February 8th, we said goodbye to the Sheep and hello to the Monkey, as Chinese New Year began! In addition to the twelve year animal Zodiac, there are also five elements that also rotate in cycles (wood, fire, metal, earth, water). This year is the element of fire, so 2016 is the year of the Red Fire Monkey! But what does this mean for those born in the corresponding years?
1. The Fire Monkey is one of the most ambitious and adventurous creatures on the Zodiac.
But it is also one of the most irritable, so if you know someone born in 1956 or 2016, you’d better watch your back around them!
2. In 2016, Monkeys are more likely to have a prosperous career more than any other animal!

This is due to it being a Lunar New Year, which means that the moon (representing females) is more dominant than the sun (representing males). The fairer sex are also compatible with the element of fire, which means that women will dominate men this year, especially in politics.
10. This year will bring luck to Rats and Dragons too!
Being a Monkey means that you will also help those who are born under the Rat and Dragon have a better year. However, Pigs, Tigers and Snakes may not be so lucky.
