Time seems to be flying and Christmas is creeping round the corner faster and faster! This only means one thing… it’s nearly time to go and buy those advent calendars! However, who else is pretty bored of them? They’re filled with mediocre tasting chocolate that is hard to pop out with rubbish jokes behind each window! Advent calendars need a revamp and to become exciting again so here’s how we think it should be done!
Why not make Christmas extremely fun with a homemade advent calendar consisted of small gifts for the 24 day run up to Christmas? This can only really be done for one person, like your loved one, as it would soon get too pricey but if you can choose a special someone, this will make their year!
So what do we mean? Well, we’re not suggesting you go out and buy expensive jewellery, clothes or fragrances because you need some ideas for Christmas day plus not many people can afford all that over Christmas! So what kind of things could you buy for this extremely cool and lucky advent calendar? Here are some ideas: hot chocolate sachet, sweets, socks, nail varnish, hair ties, mini luxury toiletries, perfume testers, chocolates, gift card, an ‘I owe you’, pants, earrings, their favourite soda can, home baking kit, phone case, mug, scarf, candy cane, gloves, tickets to the cinema, ginger bread men kit, Christmas dvd, etc. These can all be seasonal or personal and will make each day before Christmas super exciting!
Aim to pick items that are around $2-$5 to keep costs down but still being able to get cute little items. Once more, once you have bought each item you can wrap them all and don’t forget to tag them all with a numbered date for which the present or advent gift should be opened!
Alternatively, if you are not a fan of wrapping then why not buy a crafted box with 24 draws or pouches in which you can put the little gifts for each day on the run up to Christmas! And for the super lazy, just make your loved one stand with their eyes shut and pop it in their hands! Either way, this will be the most awesome advent calendar they will of ever had.
