Believe it or not, when More Life was released, it was listened to a staggering 61,302082 times during its first day on Spotify, beating the record held by Ed Sheeran’s third album ÷.
3. Most single-day streams by a single artist on Spotify
The day after More Life was released, Drake’s music notched up a total of 76,355,041 streams, more than any other artist in a single day.
4. First album to reach 1 billion streams on Apple Music
Not content with smashing Spotify records, Drake has also smashed a pretty impressive Apple Music record, with his album Views becoming the first on the streaming service to register a billion streams.
5. Most Billboard Music Awards won in a single year
The 2017 ceremony saw Drake win a total of 13 awards, beating the previous record holder Adele, who won 12 awards back in 2012.
6. Most streamed song in the UK
Drake’s ‘One Dance’ managed to register 7.8 million streams in a week, breaking the previous record of 7.32 million streams held by Adele’s ‘Hello’.
7. Most American Music Awards nominations
When Drake received 13 nominations at the American Music Awards in 2016, he beat the record for most nominations previously held by Michael Jackson, who scored 11 nods at the 1984 awards show.
