Nursery Dog Becomes Mother To Five Adorable Orphaned Cheetah Cubs

If there’s anything cuter than fluffy baby animals in the world, then we’d sure like to see it. Until then, we are going to continue to adore tiny versions of some of the most incredible animals on the planet.

A video was recently released on YouTube by The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden channel showing off five cheetah cubs being nursed by a Collie mother.

As you can see, these tiny little baby Cheetah cubs may well be the cutest little things we’ve seen all year! It’s adorable how they’re all so sleepy and just clambering over one another!

Blakley, the Collie dog mother was brought in to tend to the Cheetahs and give them nurturing as they grew older. Blakely is a Companion Dog at the nursery where these Cheetahs are staying who is often used to raise young animals during their precious early years due to her caring and loving nature.

Unfortunately, the mother died during the birth as she was forced to have a c-section so that the babies could all be born. However, thanks to this lovely dog, they will have a mother-like figure who we see licks them and lets them nuzzle themselves into her like any true mother would.

The video above is of the cubs only 2 days after their C-section, earlier on than the first video. It shows the cubs as barely being able to open their eyes and being very sleepy. These two things are incredible ingredients to cause you to go “awwww.”

It is common for cubs to stay with their mother until the ages of 16 to 18 months old at which point this family unit breaks up while the mother goes off to find another mate. Also, these cheetahs will reach their reproductive age at just 20 to 24 months, meaning they’ll be ready to reproduce only a few months after they leave their mother.
