The art of Shanghai Tango is truly awesome. Using an incredibly simple but effective illustration technique, the wildly talented artist creates unique and often hilarious images that are as much humorous observations as they are poignant, challenging and controversial statements about 21st century culture. Meditating on everything from society’s incessant obsession with technology, to the absurdity of the modern art world and how palm trees actually feel about sunbathers on the beach, this collection of illustrations is really impressive. Let’s hope that this artist doesn’t stop providing us with this level of equal quality and hilarity. These ridiculously simple illustrations are very poignant and funny.
