There’s no doubt that Adele’s new song ‘Hallo’ has taken the world and specifically the internet by storm. It’s great to see that she’s back and arguably just as big as before she took her break from the industry. With the world being obsessed with the song, on Radio 1, the 89-year-old legendary TV Presenter Sir David Attenborough narrated over the hit-song with such perfection.
Sir David Attenborough showed why he’s so absolutely loved by the world with his innocent and beautifully spoken narration of the introductory sequence of Adele’s new song ‘Hello’ before the actual singing begins. Sir Attenborough’s innocence is present when he asks “Won’t Adele be angry with me?”
He begins brilliantly describing the first shot “The year is 2015. The world appears to have a green tint to it. But there are also some dead insects in the foreground. But don’t worry about that for now.” Then as the camera focuses and you see a car driving on the track through the window. “Look as the world’s most famous pop star zooms down a dirt track in an old Mini. Money certainly hasn’t changed her.” Great little comments like this are what make this narration just perfect.
The next follows Adele as she walks on a windy day and Sir Attenborough narrates “Battling against strong winds and the weight of expectation, she’s convinced now is her time to strike.”
Next, Sir Attenborough has a great little dig at the quite infamous flip-phone that Adele uses in the video. “She hasn’t upgraded her handset since 1999. Hashtag flip phone.”
On top of taking the mick of her phone of choice, he also questions the state of the home that she’s living in. “Ugh, her surroundings are familiar and unwelcoming but this is no match for such a cool customer and she decides to tidy up a bit. Oh, dusty isn’t it?
He then finally gives us one last famous description of this magnification creature that he’s describing. “The lesser-spotted Adele is about to be everywhere again!” and finally in response: “Hello!”.
