It is very obvious that recently, in the world of men’s fashion and grooming beards and facial hair have become ‘the look’ to have. Pioneered by the likes of male fashion icons, David Beckham, Tom Hardy and Jake Gyllenhaal. From a simple style stubble to big bushy beards, everything goes these days and it really is the coolest look for men to be styling.
Since then, beards and facial hair have been growing (or should I say in some cases attempted!) the perfect A-list looking beard. Once more, women are seemingly finding men with facial a lot more attractive, which is polar opposite to previous years when it would be frowned upon due to being uncomfortable! Anyway, who wouldn’t want to look as good as these celebs?
However, what does having a beard really mean? Should woman actually be avoiding men with beards and men avoiding growing them?!
Studies have shown a correlation between being a male with a beard and certain personality traits that differ to men without beards or excessive facial hair! These traits include being more likely to get into a fight, stealing and theft and even cheat on their spouses (watch out ladies). Whereas cleanly shaven men are found to show minimal signs of these personality traits!
Once more, the stats show that from a pool of 2,000 men, 47 percent of bearded men admitted to have cheated on their partners compared to the 20 percent of cleanly shaven men having admitted. Additionally, 45 percent of bearded faced men would admit to getting into the occasional tiff and physical fight and only 29 percent of shaven men would admit to the same! Most shockingly, 17 percent of shaved faced men would admit to having stolen before but over double that with 40 percent come the bearded men that have stolen!
Obviously, these stats don’t apply for everyone but from what scientists have found, we should keep an eye out on those bearded fellows around us! Or perhaps the cleanly shaven men are better at telling fibs and making those bearded men look bad!
