5 TV Couples We Wanted To Get Together That Never Happened

Everyone loves a good TV romance, especially when they’re formed from one of those ‘will they/won’t they couples.’ You know the type. A pairing that seem so right for one another, but there are too many obstacles in their path until finally, one day, they get it together. Well, this article isn’t about the Ross and Rachel’s of the small screen, it’s for the Joey’s and the Phoebe’s. It’s dedicated to those TV couples that should have got together, but for some reason never did and it broke our hearts.

2. Sookie and Sam

One of the most annoying things about the final episode of ‘True Blood’ was that we never found out who Sookie ended up with. A flash forward to the future showed a pregnant Sookie happily married, but we never see her husbands face. After Bill’s death, fans would have been far happier if she’d just ended up with lovable, loyal Sam.

Sam had a crush on Sookie for a long time, but he was also a true friend to her. Unlike her tawdry and insecure relationships with Bill, Eric and Ben, Sam offered her a solid foundation. Plus, as a shapeshifter with a difficult upbringing, her also understood her insecurities better than anyone else. There was a moment in season 6 where it looked like they may finally get it together, but Sam’s latest squeeze Nicole turned out to be pregnant and that put an end to things for good.
