Everyone loves a good TV romance, especially when they’re formed from one of those ‘will they/won’t they couples.’ You know the type. A pairing that seem so right for one another, but there are too many obstacles in their path until finally, one day, they get it together. Well, this article isn’t about the Ross and Rachel’s of the small screen, it’s for the Joey’s and the Phoebe’s. It’s dedicated to those TV couples that should have got together, but for some reason never did and it broke our hearts.
We know a number of ‘Freaks and Geeks’ fans wanted super smart good girl Lindsay Weir to get together with school bad boy Daniel Desario (played by a young James Franco), but there are plenty of reasons why this shouldn’t, and never did, happen. First of all, it would ruin her hard won friendship with Kim -Daniel’s on-off girlfriend – which turned out to be the show’s main source of girl power moments. Secondly, it was too obvious a pairing – BORING. And thirdly, her and Nick were just a much cuter couple.
As fans of the short-lived series will remember, the duo briefly tried dating, before breaking up over a misunderstanding (Nick found out Lindsay was planning on finishing with him, so he dumped her first, not realising she had actually changed her mind). However, the pair still clearly had feelings for one another throughout the remainder of the season, and we like to think if the show hadn’t have been cancelled they’d have given things another go.
