At a recent Las Vegas show, Britney Spears suffered a major wardrobe malfunction after the zipper on the back of her mostly see through dress slipped open. As two dancers flailed at the singer’s back, she continued her performance, never letting on to the crowd that there was a major wardrobe issue going on behind her. For some reason, this is a problem that many celebrities, both on and off stage, are always struggling with. We take a look at some of the more famous among the long-suffering below.
Janet Jackson
This is probably one of the more famous examples. During a particularly raunchy Superbowl performance that included both Jackson and Justin Timberlake, he reached across the singer before ripping away a piece of her clothing, revealing part of her chest. There was a lot of back and forth about whether this was a highly organised publicity stunt or a complete accident.
Lenny Kravitz
Another recent one, Kravitz came popping into the media’s attention after a gig in Stockholm saw him coming off a little embarrassed. While making a particularly heavy lunge, the star’s pants ripped and left him hanging out for the entire crowd to see. It wasn’t long before the internet spread the image everywhere.
Nicki Minaj
Never one to stray far away from the malfunction problem, Minaj is known for regularly coming out of her tight clothing without meaning to. The 2014 VMAs were no different. To be fair to her, the issue was less her tight clothing and more that those backstage were unable to properly sort her front zip before she went out on stage, meaning she had to hold it together herself.
Anne Hathaway
At the 2013 Oscars, Hathaway fell foul of one of the oldest forms of malfunction. While getting out of the car, the paparazzi were able to snap an up-skirt shot that I’m sure left her feeling embarrassed the morning after. That being said, we can’t really blame her for this one can we? Maybe the man with the camera should stop trying to get the most provocative shot possible.
