If you’re a 90’s kid you’ll most certainly remember Power Rangers. In fact, we’re pretty sure there’s some form of Power Rangers still on kids TV today, but it’s most likely reruns or really not as good as what we used to watch.
Anyway, if you didn’t yet know, there is going to be a brand new Power Rangers movie coming out in 2016. For some, this will be absolutely brilliant news as all their favourite colours will be coming back to the big screen. However, some have been a little more sceptical on the matter and have questioned whether there was any need. Oh, and the new costumes have been revealed too. Because with every new iteration of Power Rangers their costumes needed to change slightly, yet stay distinctive.
Entertainment weekly managed to grab the exclusive first look at the brand new suits that the 2016 Power Rangers will don and in all honesty, we think they look really really good.
However, there are some people who aren’t so sure about the suits and have already formed their whole opinions on the film based on the image above. Some were questioning the suits looks and why the women had been given heels.
I was super excited for the new Power Rangers movie until I saw their suits…why did they give the girls weird boobages and heels? O.o

However, others questioned the practicality of the suits themselves and whether all modern superhero suits NEEDED to be made of stiff looking materials that in real-life would likely not be practical. Especially for all the martial arts that the Power Rangers are famous for performing.

All these comments are all fair game and everybody is entitled to their own opinion. However, we’ve not even seen a trailer yet, there may be contextualised reason as to why the Power Rangers suits have been so upgraded and look more like robotics than silk garments.
However, as with every film, we want to wait for the trailer to let our opinions be heard on the web. Until we see footage, context and an idea as to where the story is going to take us, we can hold no judgement. However, it will be interesting to hear the costume designer’s reason for giving the women heels… surely they can’t be kicking butts with a wedge on?
