The picture above was actually baked by her a wife for her husband’s birthday, who I’ll assume has a thing for KFC food. That being said, the idea had been done before, along with many other baked good that look so much like other things that it can often become more creepy than it is impressive! Lets take a look at some of those cakes below.
Want something to eat while you’re watching a movie but you’re not a fan of popcorn? It can be a pain, the kernels getting stuck in your teeth and that constant crunching noise through the film and that’s if you don’t crack a tooth on a errant nugget of un-popped corn. For those popcorn worriers, this cake has got you covered, offering you something to tuck into while you watch your favourite film, but your sneaking game better be on point if you want to get it into the theaters!
Like the KFC one, I imagine this cake was made for someone who has a real thing for burgers and fries. I’ll be honest, I really can’t blame them. Rather than making me want cake, this one gets me salivating big time for a burger. Maybe this is a cake for someone who fancies something sweet but has more of a savory tooth?
Now we’re getting into the realm of creepy. Without getting too graphic, can you really imagine plunging a knife into this one? While some might enjoy this cake, perhaps at a baby shower or to celebrate a birth in the family, I certainly wouldn’t feel comfortable taking a big bite out of the leg of this sweet cuddly one. That being said, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone with a baby who hasn’t said that they could just eat them all up, and now they can.
This one is for the coffee lovers out there. If the baker didn’t make this one a coffee cake, then they’ve let us all down. The saucer and doily are a nice touch as well, a real dedication to the craft. I’m going to assume that the marshmallows are real and not some groups of icing, putting this close to a cupcake size, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a glob of little fondant or something.
Here are some more unusual cakes that you may wonder about:
