We’re all very excited about Game of Thrones Season 6 – but what do we know so far?
When will it air?
We’re all VERY excited about Game of Thrones Season 6, but we’re going to have to wait a long time to see it. The earliest that Season 6 is likely to air will be around April 2016. How are we going to fill our Monday nights until then?!
Who didn’t make it to Game of Thrones Season 6?
In true Game of Thrones fashion, a LOT of characters popped their clogs in season 5. We’ll no longer be seeing: Ser Barristan, Hizdahr zo Loraq, Myranda, Janos Slynt, Shireen Baratheon, Selyse Baratheon, Stannis Baratheon, Meryn Trant, Mance Rayder, Maester Aemon, Myrcella Baratheon and (perhaps?) Jon Snow.
Quite the list, isn’t it? The big question is, of course, whether or not Jon Snow is really dead. A question that won’t be properly answered until future seasons of the show.
So who will be in Game of Thrones Season 6?
It would take forever to list all the characters who should appear in Season 6, but of our favourites, expect to see: Daenerys, Jaime, Cersei, Tyrion, Arya, Sansa, Theon, Sam and Littlefinger.
We’ll also see the return of Bran and Hodor who didn’t appear at all in season 5 so perhaps we’ll hear more about Bran and his three-eyed raven and his ability to possess his dire wolf.
It’s also likely that The Hound, who we all hate to love, will be returning for season 6.
Ned Stark will appear!
Although he won’t be played by Sean Bean. This Ned Stark will be in flashback form years and years before the Ned Stark we knew. The rumour for this flashback is that we might be finding out the origins of Jon Snow and just who his parents were… and, hopefully, we’ll find out Jon Snow’s fate.
Will there be new characters in Game of Thrones Season 6?
Apparently there’s going to quite a few new characters! We’re likely to meet a lot of Sam’s family including his harsh father Randyll Tarly who sent poor Sam to the wall in the first place. It looks like we’ll also meet his mother, brother (played by Freddie Stroma) and his sister.
It’s also reported that we’ll be introduced to Theon Greyjoy’s older brother too. In the books Euron Greyjoy is a pirate who runs the ship Silence – a ship were the deckhands have had their tongues cut out.
Ian McShane and Richard E. Grant have also been cast in mystery roles.
