This month has been awash with Back To The Future references, the series hitting a couple of big milestones this year. While I definitely suggest you give the trilogy a look, if you’re like me and you’ve watched them to death, you might be interested in this list. I’ve put together eight of the best films that have something to do with time travel.
This is probably one of the greatest films ever. Directed by the genius Terry Gilliam and starring Bruce Willis alongside a youthful Brad Pitt, both on top form, 12 Monkeys’ story concerns a society that is forced to live underground due to a plague killing off almost all of the population of the Earth. Prisoners in the society are offered reduced sentences for performing actions to help the higher ups. Willis is asked to go back in time and investigate a group known only as the 12 Monkeys. What he stumbles on is a twisted narrative that weaves its way through your mind and leaving you emotionally drained, but satisfied, once it’s finished.
