It’s probably not shocking news to anyone that the film industry is struggling a little bit. With the dawn of social media, illegal pirating and an ever growing list of solid streaming services, younger audiences are abandoning the silver screen to watch films on their laptops, games consoles, tablets and any other crazy devices that you can plug into on the daily commute. Here’s 8 reasons less and less people are going to the cinema.
It’s a sad fact, but if you start a discussion with a group of friends about an upcoming movie you can’t wait to see, there’s bund to be one who’s already illegally downloaded it and given the film a verdict. What’s worrying, though, is that a lot of the time the leaks of huge movies are in almost perfect quality, making film fans even less likely to head to the cinema to at least experience decent picture and sound. The real question, though, is who keeps letting all these movies slip through the cracks and onto the internet?
