Sometimes celebrity rows spill out onto Twitter!
Twitter is a great place for people to communicate. Famous people can talk directly to their fans and even to each other. Most of the time this just involves celebrities telling each other how wonderful they are but every now and again we see a glimpses that the celebrity life is not everything we expect it to be. Not all celebrities get along and Twitter is often the place where these differences are aired!
Britney Spears/Iggy Azalea – maybe not a row
These two have recently worked together and their apparent Twitter row focuses on the fact that Iggy doesn’t think the song has been marketed well enough. Her initial tweet goes like this:
“its difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and tv performances etc. unfortunately im just featured…”
The media have taken this to be a pop at Britney. However, Iggy has taken to Twitter to explain that there is no ‘beef’ between the two:
“We remain friends and i haven’t said anything negative at all about her. Does wishing we had promoted a single more make me the bad guy?”
“No one is throwing “shade” or “shots” on either side of the table. The girl is my friend and i support her 100%.”
“Im over it. Women in music are not the same as a teen drama. Stop making us all out to be, we are business women & artists. Not mean girls.”
So maybe this wasn’t the Twitter feud that the media wanted it to be but there are plenty of others that are definitely genuine arguments.
Charlotte Church/Katie Hopkins
The feud between Hopkins and Church came about after the General Election results. Hopkins took a swipe at Church, who was attending an anti-austerity march in Cardiff with the following tweet:
“Oi!@charlottechurch wind your neck in. Your Welsh AND you lost. Own your problems.”
Charlotte simply respond with:
“I have no interest in conversing with you. You lack humility AND you can’t spell. Parasite.”
Although Church did continue to tweet and challenged Hopkins to a charity boxing match. So far this hasn’t happened but it would definitely be something many people would pay to watch!
Sylvester Stalone/Bruce Willis
You would be forgiven for thinking it would be beneath this two action action heroes to have a spat on Twitter and in a way you would be right. Bruce Willis remained professionally quiet throughout, but there is no way of denying that there is clearly an issue between the two. Stalone accused Willis of acting like a ‘diva’ and then took to Twitter with these two tweets aimed at his co-star:
“WILLIS OUT… HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!”
“GREEDY AND LAZY… A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE.”
Katie Hopkins/Danny Dyer
It’s not surprising that Katie Hopkins is on this list again. She has a tendency to annoy most people at some point. The target this time – Danny Dyer and the fact that his girlfriend proposed to him.
On announcing their happy news Hopkins couldn’t help but tweet:
“No woman should ever propose to a man. Certainly not one with a naff bum-fluff beard and dodgy squint.”
Danny quite eloquently replied with:
“No I agree…especially when you look like ya face should be on the side of a gothic building..have a nice day ya daft sexist ya.”
Not one to leave it alone Hopkins replied:
“I don’t believe any woman really WANTS to propose to a man. Women would far rather be proposed TO than propose AT.”
And Danny responded again:
“Really…….and no man wants his wife to have the look of Wilfred Bramble either…strange old world innit.”
Hopkins went on to question Danny’s masculinity:
“Dyers girlfriend went the full Lorena Bobbitt; being proposed to removes a man’s genitals. Too emasculated to say no were we @MrDDyer?”
Before Danny ended the row very with this perfect put down:
“I’d pay you a compliment coz I know it upsets ya…..diddums…..but I’ll be bollocked if I can think of one.”
Katie Hopkins/Kelly Osbourne
Here she goes again, but this time Hopkins Twitter row wasn’t with the target of her initial comments. After making offence remarks about Sharon Osbourne and plastic surgery it was Kelly Osbourne who jumped on Twitter and made her feelings known:
“@KTHopkins U R a hypocritical vile human that is addicted 2 attention U R so insignificant! Don’t you ever talk about my mother again! #India”
Katie responded referencing Peaches Geldof, whom she had also clashed with:
“Just like Peaches and Jesus, Kelly has done well due to a famous parent. @KellyOsbourne”
Kelly wasn’t prepared to take that lying down and sent the following tweets:
“@KTHopkins just like you can’t help the parents you came from neither can I! I don’t see you on a @Forbes list I work my bum off nice try…,”
“I feel sorry for you & Ur ignorance!”
“Actually made my night that @KTHopkins considers herself a lady when I think of her a desperate sad old bitter child is what comes to mind”
Before Katie later piped up with:
“No problem Kel. No one ever mistook you for a lady sweetie pie.@KellyOsbourne”
It’s safe to say these two will probably never see eye to eye.
MC Harvey/Cheryl Cole
This Twitter row is one of the simple he said/she said types. MC Harvey claimed that he had been involved in a secret relationship with Cheryl. Cheryl then used Twitter as her way of publically denying the accusation:
“Was this ‘relationship’ happening in your head @harveyofficial?! Are you smoking something?”
“@harveyofficial I think I’ve met you once maybe twice at public events and With your wife!! #s**tjustgetsweirder.”
However, MC Harvey was not too keen on being labelled a liar and continued to defend his story:
“Do you actually want me to tweet some of the messages you emailed me @cherylcole pipe down and stop playing the saint in front of your fans.”
“I had your back @cherylcole until you sent that s**t. Disappointed in you if the public seen these emails you would end up with egg on your face.”
This is one where we will never really know who is telling the truth. Either way I don’t think they will be kissing and making up anytime soon!
Lily Allen/Katie Hopkins
This is the last time that Katie Hopkins will appear on the list – I promise! Although it is probably not the last time she will annoy someone on Twitter. This time she had a pop at Lily Allen for having a famous dad and putting weight on when she was pregnant.
Lily responded in fantastic style and didn’t really leave Hopkins any option but to retreat:
“Yes, after tragically losing a child so late in to my pregnancy I may have gained a few pounds, I am one of many that find comfort in food. The two pregnancies that followed were terrifying because of what had happened before and I was pretty much on bed rest for 20 months.
“I wasn’t exercising because I didn’t want to take any risks and funnily enough, the survival of my children felt more important than being thin.
“Can somebody tell me what Katie Hopkins does except go on telly slagging off girls half her age?”
A strange duo to be rowing over Twitter but Sir Alan Sugar did start it by tweeting this:
“Can you tell me who the hell this Tulisa bird is – what has she done?”
Not leaving it there he continued to let Simon Cowell know that he should sack her from the X-Factor because she “knows nothing and talks rubbish.”
Who knows what Tulisa did to deserve such a random attack but she came back fighting:
“U look like an ugly hobbit. Stop tweeting me & go & find some happiness! It’s embarrassing u miserable old man.”
Sugar seems to have got had the final word though as Tulisa didn’t return as an X-Factor judge.
Denise Van Outen/Natalie Cassidy
This is a classic case of mums at war! Parenting style is always a good source of conflict and this row occurred over when is the best time to go back to work after having a child.
Natalie was firmly in the camp of staying at home for a while:
“Denise Van Outen went back to work after two weeks because she said she needed to feel normal again. I just think, what have you had a child for? Having a child should be your job.”
Denise didn’t take too kindly to the insult and replied that “She can stick her trumpet where the sun don’t shine.”
Adding fuel to the fire Natalie then when on TV with her baby and was labelled a ‘hypocrite’ by Denise, who stated that taking her child on TV was work because she was being paid to do it.
Lesson learned – it’s never a good idea to criticised someone’s parenting over Twitter!
Sinead O’Connor/Miley Cyrus
It seems this row was never intended to be a row at all. In fact Sinead O’Connor wrote an open letter to Miley because she was genuinely worried about her going off the rails. She was concerned with the twerking and constant sticking out of her tongue and insisted that “they will prostitute you for all you’re worth and cleverly make you think it’s what YOU wanted.”
‘They’, it can be assumed are people in the ‘business’.
Miley, who had recently released a music video that was being likened to Sinead’s ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ video wasn’t too happy about the concern and simply tweeted:
“I don’t have time to write you an open letter cause I’m hosting & performing on SNL this week.”
Maybe Sinead will keep her concerns to herself in future!
Katie Hopkins wins our list with the most Twitter rows ever! Do you think anyone else can beat her to that?
